Coach of the Year
Arrington Jones III - Virginia Union University

Virginia Union Head Coach Arrington Jones, III has just completed his fourth season at the helm of the Panther football program. During his tenure at VUU, Jones has compiled a record of 21-21. Most recently, he coached his team to a 9-1 regular season record, earning them the status of 2007 CIAA Eastern Division Champions. The Panthers were also extended an invitation to represent the CIAA in the Pioneer Bowl. In addition, Jones was named the 2007 CIAA Coach of the Year.

Offensive Player of the Year
Lamar Little - Virginia Union University

Lamar Little (5-11/204/JR/QB/Candor,NC) was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the year, as selected by the CIAA Football Coaches Association. The 5-11, 200-pound Little completed 133 of 265 passes for 2,340 yards and 28 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. He also ran for 513 yards and nine touchdowns. He ranked 20th in NCAA Division II in passing efficiency.

Defensive Player of the Year
Louis Ellis- Shaw University

As a Graduate of Lanier High School in 2005, Louis Ellis was able to accomplish multiple honors; All State, All Metro, All District, Defensive Player of the Year, Three Time MVP and selected to The Clarion Ledger Danzy Dozen. He played multiple positions on the gridiron: Place Kicker, Punter, Tight End, Defensive End, Full Back, and Offensive Guard. Louis remained the top Player to Watch in the state of Mississippi. Other Sports played: Basketball: CIAA Defensive Player of the year. 1st Team All Conference, 100% Wrong Club "Player of the Year", W.E. Gary-Classic-Player of the Game, Shaw University Team Captain, and recently named to the 2007 All-America Second Team.
